Practical Winter League 2024/25 Round 3
Well, its called the Winter League and boy did we get it, minus 7 temperatures, frozen water but it didn’t put anyone off, 35 shooters all arrived ready to go, including another 4 new shooters to the sport, great news. Considering the weather we kept it all indoors for this match but with targets out to 45m and some interesting stages involving office chairs and tight shooting angles meant it was a great match, certainly from the comments on the day.
There were the usual 6 stages, using one of the skills houses as well as the 10m, 25m and 50m indoor ranges with a variety of steel poppers and paper targets, with a good spread of Minirifle and 2Gun shooters, no pistol class though again, thats a shame.
Winner on the day for minirifle was our own Ed Patmore, his first match win here so well done Ed, especially done well as he was introducing his wife Nina to the sport of practical shooting so perhaps Nina needs to come to all the matches!
Waldek won the 2Gun class just ahead of Russell Hicks showing that the seniors can still cut it at the sharp end.
To coincide with this match there is also the launch of a new Practical Shooting website; Practical Shooting UK where all the results of all the national competitions can be found (NRA and UKSPA) together with a live update of the total scores for the leagues and championships, there is also a calendar for future matches as well as details for clubs that host practical matches for non members.
Our next Winter League match is February 15th, to enter go via Practiscore.
